Horse medicine is a phenomenon that takes place when humans and horses take time to intentionally connect. When we become part of the herd, we can drop the stories and embody the present moment which often leads to deep nervous system regulation, emotional release and healing. While it is not the job of the horse to heal us, there is something that takes place when we tap into their way of being, with the intention of connection and understanding.
While I do have a background in clinical mental health counseling, I call the work that I do " equine guidance" due to the fact that I am not diagnosing or treating mental illnesses, nor am I operating under a state licensing body. My focus is on the deep inner work that will benefit us as individuals which will then translate to the well-being of all beings we come in contact with.
My horses are nestled in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, Arizona on Medicine Horse Healing Ranch. My mentor and I have created an intentional space for the purpose of both horse and human healing.
I have a master's degree in mindfulness-based transpersonal clinical mental health counseling and previously I have also completed advanced trainings in various modalities and subjects. Most recently I have undergone training in Compassionate Bereavement Care with Dr. Joanne Cacciatore. I continue to do work at the Selah Carefarm in Cornville, Arizona. Additionally, I have been deeply involved in horse medicine healing, working closely with my mentor who has been a leading pioneer in the field.
While I personally love to ride, I do not offer rides to the public. The focus of my work with others is on how we can work towards emotional, mental and spiritual wholeness in the presence of the horses.
